Conversation with the Sea Begins Its Journey in Venice and Toronto

Palestinian actor Kamel El Basha stars in the new feature film Conversation with the Sea, directed by Muayad Alayan. The film will launch its festival circuit with its world premiere in the Spotlight section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, followed by its North American premiere in the Centerpiece section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.
Set in Jerusalem, the film follows Kamal (60), who is ordered to pay a financial debt allegedly owed by his son Wael, despite the latter having drowned in the Red Sea decades ago. With no official record of his death, Kamal embarks on a journey to uncover the truth of what happened to his son.
Co-written by Muayad and Rami Alayan, the film is a joint production between Palestine, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
